Personal grooming and its importance has been the highlight of this century. Reinvention, rejuvenation, reincarnation,self-discovery, all of these terms are brought down to a single thought, which in laymen’s terms is: understanding yourself.

But how do we do this?

How do we see what’s inside our own potential and the best approach at bringing it out?

1. Let out the inner child:

When you were a child, you made most of your decisions based on your inner wisdom. This inner wisdom was based off of needs, desires, and “gut feelings.”

Grownups, on the contrary, are accustomed to thinking logically and somehow they eventually just lose track of their original self identity. Or, rather, lose sight of who they really are. So, the first step to knowing yourself again begins with re-bonding with your inner child.

2. Discriminate between your innate and logical self:

self identity In order to focus on your inner child and create a distinct separation from your logical mind, you will need to treat them as if they are two separate people living inside your head. In fact, you can think of them as two friends – one young, and one older – with opposing viewpoints, who are attempting to give you advice.

3. Listening intently:

After you have given the two sides of yourself their own voice, try to focus on the quiet innocence of the inner child – you know, the one that’s constantly being drowned out by the adult noise. This may take time, but the conversation between you and your inner child should become a lifetime relationship. It’s not a short-term adventure, and it needs to be nurtured and strengthened just as any other good relationship does.

4. Change does not come easily:

When you are making the shift toward your inner child, you are going to make mistakes. The old saying, “Two steps forward, one step back,” is probably one of the most applicable here. Finding your inner peace, embracing your inner mind and child, and finding your full potential can mean that there’s a good possibility you may venture off course.

If that happens, use laughter to ease stressful situations and learn to enjoy your mistakes as a part of the miracle of learning. Laughter is the best medicine.

5. Finding yourself is essential:

essential selfSelf discovery is the trigger to making changes in your life. Deep in your inner mind are all the tools you need for true happiness and for following the right path, but if you refuse to access them you won’t ever realize your full potential. This means keeping the passion that your inner child embraces, and letting it take you down paths you’ve forgotten, or may have even avoided.

When you commit to looking deep into yourself to find your true merriment, it will come. The wisdom of a child, when paired with a mild dose of the logical mind, is a very powerful tool. It is a tool that will allow you to find the real you, and find inner peace.

We hope you take these tips to finding your true self and use them to build a new, greater path. What are the changes you would like to see in your life? How can we help you to achieve them?
