This is correct, however, did you know that our habits can also affect the way we look and how we age? For example, smiling a lot automatically makes you look more radiant and takes some years off. Most of the things that you do or your habits can be controlled, so if you are careful about your habits, you can stay healthier and younger looking. Bad habits for your looks
Smoking cigarettes has been linked with many health concerns including heart and lung diseases. However, smoking excessive amount of cigarettes can also make you age faster, making your skin dull. Smoking dries out your skin faster and in the long run can turn your skin dry and leathery. Smoking can also makeyou age faster because it reduces your blood circulation to the skin.
· Sun bathing
When you get a tan or burn in the sun, your skin tends to lose moisture, your skin sags and you get wrinkles quickly. The harmful UV rays of the sun can damage your skin, as well as cause cancer if exposed to sun for long. Make sure you drink plenty of liquid and apply sun block or sun screen with a high SPF value on your exposed skin including face and neck, when you go out in the sun, especially between 10:00 A.M and 4:00 P.M, when the sun causes the most damage to our skin.
· Fast food
To tell you the truth, no one can get away from the temptation of biting into a greasy cheeseburger or slice of a hot pizza; however, there is no denying the negative effects of fast food. Fast food will make you look fat, especially if you order fries or a large coke with your double cheeseburger. Fast food is full of saturated fat, sugar, cheese and all kinds of ingredients that is bad for our health. Eating fast food daily will have a profound effect on your waist line and blood cholesterol. So to look your best, limit consumption of fast food and sugar.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying a beer or two with your buddies or have a mixed drink at a party. However, you need to watch how much you drink because alcohol is a high calorie beverage, and could get you fat quickly. You might have heard about beer gut. So no one looks attractive with a beer gut or a spare tire hanging from the mid section. You might even want to control your alcoholism if you think it might be a problem for you.
Stress and anxiety has a direct connection to how we look and feel. If we feel great and worry free, we may also look a lot more attractive to others. Learn ways to control and minimize stress, anxiety and manage anger.
· Staying up late
You might be a workaholic, but depriving your body of rest and proper sleep can harm the way you look. In order to look good and also function properly, you need at least eight hours of rest daily. If you continuously stay up late, you might lose moisture of your skin, develop dark circles around your eyes, and your body might lose hormonal balance or bodily fluids.
Good habits for your looks
Just by smiling more, you will start to look more attractive to others. A smile also relieves your tension and helps you relax more easily. Hangout with people who make you smile and takes your stress away.
· Exercise and yoga
Exercise and yoga are major tools to looking good and feeling good. Regular exercises and yoga routines takes away your stress as well as increases your fitness levels. A simple 20 minute walk could make you look lot better and happier. So, get yourself a healthy routine and stick with it to look and feel better.
· Eating a balanced diet
Balanced diet is essential for a healthier and happier life. What we eat has a profound effect on how we look and how well we feel. The long term effect of eating a balanced diet cannot be ignored. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables as well as food rich in fiber makes our skin better and helps us stay healthy. Limit your sugar and fat intake. Drink at least eight cups of water daily, and make sure you drink plenty of liquids.
· Using sun block generously
We have discussed earlier that sun can damage our skin very easily. Apply a sun blocker generously whenever you need to go out in the sun.
Regular cleansing should keep your skin healthier and younger looking. There are several ways you can cleanse, tome, exfoliate, and moisturize your skin to make it look better. Select the right stuff for your skin type, according to your needs. For example, your skin might be dry, oily, sensitive, or maybe perfectly normal.
· Your gestures
Your posture and gestures have an effect on how you look. When you communicate, your movements and the way you position yourself and talk can make you look attractive if you do it the right way. So practice the right postures and gestures. You may follow some of the most attractive ladies on movies, and see how they manage to become more attractive. The way you interact with others also plays an important role on how you look. Listen to others when they are speaking to you keeping eye contact.
· Dressing and grooming
You might have heard the old saying “dress for success.” It goes without saying that if you look and feel successful, you probably will become successful. This goes for everything you do, from dressing up for a job interview, to going to visit your friends or co-workers, always be dressed appropriately. Most important thing is that your dress should make you feel comfortable and complement you. Dressing up also means getting the right hairdo, clipping your nails, and all other personal hygiene needed to look your best.
Looking good is not only the way you were born with, but it also depends on how we carry ourselves how we live our lives. A healthy lifestyle is often the key to looking and feeling good. Things we do in our daily lives become our habits and we do them every day without thinking. If we all follow the healthy habits, our lives could be a lot easier and we all could look a lot healthier, and happier.
