5 Ways to start an indoor garden
Starting your indoor garden is easier than you think. You could place your plant containers anywhere in your house, in several different ways. There are also several different ways by which you could decorate your house with container plants. Below are some ideas that you might like.
1. Hanging plants
Hanging containers make great decorations for your house. Hanging plants in front of your window is a budget friendly way to make your house attractive. Anything from coconut shells to used plastic bottles could be used for hanging plants.
2. Wire frame garden
Got an old wire frame shelf or book shelf? You could easily turn any old furniture like a bookcase or shelf into a pot holder for plants. It could be a great DIY project to get a traditional look for your home.
3. Indoor tower garden
Growing your own food has never been easier than with Tower gardens. They allow you to grow multiple plants using very little resources. Modern Aquaponic Tower Gardens are attractive enough to keep in your living room or bedroom, and they could grow 25-50 plants at the same time, with very little attention from you. They are also excellent for rooftop farms.
4. Box herb garden
A number of veggies like carrots, beets, onions and potatoes can be grown in a box. Prepare a bed in a box with gravel, sand or potting soil and push your carrot tops or beets into the soil. Bulb plants like onions and garlic do well when pushed ¾ into the soil.
5. Plastic egg carton planters
Your plastic egg cartons can be used for planting herbs or even microgreens that do not need much space to grow. Microgreens are full of nutrition and can grow fast very easily anywhere at home.
Put your kitchen leftovers and waste into good use. Leftover vegetables like carrot tops can be planted and grown into full plants. You could also use green leafy vegetables, carrot tops and peels from fruits and veggies to make your own organic fertilizer. Most of your kitchen waste and household trash can be turned into compost and used as fertilizers for your indoor plants.
Growing your own food is now easier than ever. Try some of these ideas and grow some healthy food at home or make your home attractive and healthy with some ornamental plants.
