Buying and owning an Electric Vehicle could be an excellent idea today, considering all the amazing progress made in this industry. Apart from the environmental benefits, they are also efficient and cost effective. Find out about all the latest updates and progress made in the Electric Vehicle industry today.
Electric Vehicles are rapidly gaining popularity in the market today, not only in the United States but also all over the world. So, what makes them so popular? There are a few obvious advantages of buying an electric car. The first thing is you don’t have to buy gas any more. There is also no need for oil changes and there is no emission, so you don’t pollute the environment – you could get tax breaks and subsidies from government.
However, there are several disadvantages too. Your electricity isn’t totally free; you still have to pay for electricity. The range of an electric vehicle is about 100 miles on a full charge, so they aren’t ideal for making long trips. You also have to install a charging station at home, which will cost you money. You also don’t have a big selection of cars to choose from. For example, there aren’t any trucks or SUVs that are fully electric.
With that being said, you would be amazed how fast these vehicles are making progress. They are faster, more reliable and comfortable today than ever, and they also have some pretty stylish designs. Let us look at some of the latest news and updates in the world of electric vehicles.
World’s First Electric Pickup Truck
Although electric cars have come a long way and gained worldwide popularity, no company has ever made a pickup truck and put it on the market until now. Recently, Kolle, a French automobile company, started offering a conversion of Renault Kangoo Z.E. – transforming the van into a pickup truck. However, according to greencarreports.com the finished product is no match for a Ford or Chevy at this point but it does fit the basic definition of a pickup truck for providing an open bed for hauling cargo.
The popular and the best selling Nissan Leaf has also come up with an electric pickup truck. Nissan is currently using this vehicle as a shop car to haul parts around.
