FIVE GREEN BUSINESS IDEAS FOR YOU TO GET INTO
Do you feel like starting a business but are concerned with screwing up green mother nature, just like we are?
Want to find a way to earn money without being cruel to your surroundings? You’ve come to the right place!
Here are some amazing business ideas that can generate you income and all the while preserving the green!
And, as we say – Make the Planet Better!
1) Make Your Own Custom Handmade Organic Products:
Soaps, cosmetics and cleaning products are just a few of the household products that can be made using common organic materials.
Of course, everybody can find a recipe for a salt-scrub or vinegar-based cleaning solution, but if you package and sell them in bulk, your customers can have those all-natural products at their comforts without having to use their own energy and time to make them!
2) Sustainable Event Management:
Whether they’re big or small, meetings and events can generate large amounts of waste and consume high levels of water, energy and create a lot of harmful wastes.
Green event planners can mix their green expertise and event-management skills to find eco-friendly event venues, catering, materials, accommodations and other details to help create the effects that meetings and events have on the environment.
By taking the environmental footprint into consideration when planning events, sustainable event management benefits more than just the planet.
It can be truly sustainable, benefiting what [Do you remember?] –
- People – You are going to help people enjoy better events!
- Planet – We already talked about how a green event will make the planet better, and
- Profit – You are going to make some reasonable and fair monneeeeee!
3) Eco-Consultancy:
Do you just love talking about, reading about and certainly practicing green-living?
Contribute to your community by helping others make their lives greener by starting an eco-consultancy service.
As a green consultant, you can evaluate homes and offices, and offer solutions to make them more environment-friendly. This could mean advising people on switching to energy-efficient appliances or simply starting up a recycling program. Cash in your expertise; become a certified eco-consultant to boost your potential green clientele.
4) Bring Back The Bicycles!:
Biking, instead of driving to short distances is better for both, the environment and of course, your health. Like most transportation modes, bicycles occasionally need a tune-up, tinkering, and parts.
You could be the person local cyclists come to when their bikes are in need of some light repair or cleaning. If you have some extra shed space or a garage, you could also look into purchasing cheap older bikes, perk them up and sell them to generate a profit!
5) The Farmer’s Market:
Thanks to the ongoing global eco movement, those with a green eye have a golden opportunity to make money by selling their farm-produce at their local farmer’s market.
Having naturally grown fruits and vegetables will give you an edge over rival growers that use synthetic methods. You may have to go through a legal application process and/or get certified by your local board of health to begin selling, but that’s all for the best!
So become a vendor for the farmer’s market and you’ll be surprised at how that worked out for you!
When you come to think of it, every single business in the world can have a green face, we just have to instill some responsibility and a little eco-knowledge to the business community! So what are some of your thoughts for other green business ideas?

This is a great list. Personally, I really feel that green/eco-friendly businesses is the strongest, upcoming trend (as it should be) for the future. I couldn’t help but notice your list does not really focus on eco-friendly cleaning for offices/businesses. I expect a huge increase in demand for green cleaning, both residential and commercial/janitorial in the coming years as individuals and businesses make the transition to green and sustainable options. Of course, I actually work in this industry for Stratus Building Solutions, a franchising company offering green commercial cleaning and janitorial services. I would love it if you could take a look at our website and provide your feedback. Years prior, our environmentally friendly angle escaped direct target marketing for individuals looking for green business opportunities. If you have any suggestions of how we could get better involved, I would appreciate hearing from you. Regards, Rachel, Marketing Coordinator, StratusBuildingSolutions.com / [email protected]
