Reusable and clean power generation technology has come a long way. Today, wind and solar power generators are much more efficient and practical for commercial and residential use.
It is possible to power a business or residence with off-the-grid power generation or stand-alone systems that produce energy from the sun or the wind.
Most major sustainable businesses and nearly half of Fortune 500 companies are making a shift to renewable energy.
Do you think powering your home or business from renewable clean sources will work for you? Please post your comment on our Facebook page or in the comment box below.
Why renewable energy solutions?
Have you thought about living totally off-the-grid?
It’s not as crazy as it sounds. Generating power from your own off-the-grid renewable sources is easier than ever with today’s available technology. Once you setup your own off-the-grid power stations, there will be no more worrying about energy bills.
Imagine if you didn’t have to depend on power supply companies.
Generating your own power from sources that do not burn fossil fuels for energy would keep the environment clean and could reduce your energy consumption costs; it could even become free of cost. You would only need to spend for installation to get it going. So, along with environmental benefits, there are economic benefits.
“It makes economic sense and appeals to their environmental values.” Says the US Department of Energy.
According to a report published on EcoWatch, many leading businesses called for stronger renewable energy targets from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Fortune 500 companies, including Google and 223 other businesses across the United States, 11 U.S. senators, 14 attorney generals and other major public health and clean energy organizations with over 25 environmental organizations “told the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that renewable energy should play a strong role in reducing emissions from existing power plants under its proposed Clean Power Plan.” – EcoWatch

But, where do I start, you might say?
Even though our technology has improved and solar and wind power generators have become more practical recently, some businesses are still not switching to renewable energy use.
Companies that struggle to meet their goals for renewable energy sources can get help from the Business Renewables Center (BRC). The BRC “aims to link up the biggest businesses in the United States with clean power”, says Reuters, in a report published on the Feb 2, 2015.
The BRC will help its member companies by supplying them “with energy specialists to help them navigate the clean energy markets.” – New effort launched to connect US businesses with clean energy | Reuters
Generating off-grid power
People around the world are already using alternative ways to generate energy. Wind and solar are widely used in Germany and many other European countries to generate energy. These add up to an estimated 7% of additional clean energy to their national grid.
“In 2010, installed wind capacity reached 197 gigawatts (GW) and produced about 2.5% of the world’s electricity.” – About Wind Power / Why Wind Power
“Even though we have been using wind and solar panels for over two decades, it wasn’t until recently that we have been able to achieve the performance and popularity of wind and solar generators to become significant contributors to our national grid. “
The technology is already there. All you need is the right mindset and a suitable method for generating off-grid power that will work for you.
As people become more aware and concerned about global climate change and environmental impacts, clean energy sources are bound to become our only sources of energy in the future.

All cars with a battery that is big eoungh to drive it are planned to be a balancing part of a renewable power network. The idea is that you plug the cars in at night to charge them, and then you drive to work, then you plug them in again at work. If there is too much power, the cars charge, but if there is too little they put energy back into the grid.
