Insecticides also discourage, or even kill, beneficial insects which are necessary for pollination and biodiversity. So why wouldn’t you fight pests with organic methods?

“According to the recent report Heavy Costs: Weighing The Value Of Neonicotinoid Insecticides In Agriculture, issued by the Center for Food Safety, systemic pesticides are killing bees, offer little benefit to farmers, and don’t even increase crop yields.” –

Watering your plants regularly will also keep your plants and soil healthy and wash pests off just like rain does.

2. Grow companion plants

Instead of growing a single crop, grow companion plants together. It would allow you to grow a variety of different crops in the same space, so you not only get a variety of crops but the plants will also help each other grow and some event repel insects and pests. For example many aromatic herbs, such as mint, citronella, lemongrass, fennel, catnip and many more, can repel and discourage pests from attacking your garden naturally. Additionally to herbs many flowers provide pest control, such as marigolds and nasturtiums, they also beautify your garden and are even edible!
