On average, Americans throw away approximately 266 million tons of trash every year. It turns out that the stuff that we consider trash is not as worthless as we think; we might as well be throwing away cash! People in the recycling business, landfill, and dumpster services already know this. Here is a list of a few things that we throw away as garbage that can be turned into cash.
1. Aluminum cans:
You can easily make money from your aluminum cans. Simply collect all your cans and there are places where you can sell them by the pounds. Raw aluminum, copper, iron, and so on can also be recycled for money. 5. Recycling old electronic waste
Your old electrical appliances, computer parts, and other electrical items could be recycled for cash. The PCB boards inside electronic devices and computers contain expensive metals such as copper, aluminum, iron, silver and gold. Some of the most expensive computer motherboards are coated with gold for higher conductivity. For more information on how to recycle your old electronics and dispose of other hazardous materials, visit Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Recycling not only makes you money, it can also reduce the need to mine raw materials and helps us save valuable landfill space. All rare metals such as gold, copper, silver should be recycled as much as possible. This is a habit that is good for you and makes you money, so you should recycle as much as possible. Anything that you throw away, such as glass, metals, bottles, newspaper, old electronics, old cloths, and so on can be recycled for money. Also try buying stuff made with recycled materials, because it closes the recycling loop and reduces waste.
