You can grow a number of different varieties of tomatoes indoors. They are great with your salads, soups, stews and along with your steak, or fish. You can grow peppers indoors in containers or flower pots. They need an environment for longer periods of growing seasons which will yield more peppers for longer periods of time. Carrots are very easy to grow in containers. All you need is a flower pot, some potting soil and a bright windowsill. They can be used with a wide variety of your favorite dishes and also great as a salad or snack when eaten raw.
Potatoes are amazing foods that can grow in buckets, large baskets, plastic sacks or you can even grow potatoes in boxes! They are easily added to dishes and are great source of nutrients like vitamins B6 & C and potassium.
Beans are a great source of vitamin C, B6 and also protein, potassium, calcium, magnesium and dietary fiber. You’ll love the taste of home grown beans with your home cooked foods. Just make sure that you put your plants by a sunny window, water them regularly and give the plants something for support and stability as they climb and grow bigger.
Green peas are perfect for soups, stews, added to rice, and a number of other dishes, including baby food. It’s also a surprisingly delicious treat when eaten raw, fresh from your garden. Just like beans, they contain a number of nutrients like protein, vitamins A, B6, C, K, niacin, riboflavin, folate, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, thiamin and manganese. They are also a very good source of dietary fiber. Like beans, pea plants are also climbers and are easy to grow indoors with a little care and support.
Kale is one of those superfoods that is surprisingly easy to grow. It does well indoors, almost all year round, even in the colder seasons. Make sure to use a large container and allow them enough room to grow wide and long.
Indoor planting is a fun and easy way to ensure healthy and tasty foods right from your own garden. The taste of your home grown foods will surprise you and the nutrients will keep you healthy.
